At the crack of dawn of the 27th of January 2024, Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) Administrator & CEO Mohammed Hussein P. Pangandaman together with distinguished businessmen and representatives of various AFAB stakeholders, gathered in anticipation of the launch of the first-ever AFAB Administrator and CEO Golf Tournament, also dubbed as the AFAB HPP Cup.

The eager players greeted the first light of the last Saturday morning of January, taking in the crisp morning air that brushes through the seemingly endless greeneries of the Pradera Verde Golf and Country Club.

The AFAB HPP Cup officially kicked off through a shotgun start at 7 o’clock in the morning. AFAB Administrator and CEO Pangandaman has then gracefully taken the course. Joining the AFAB Administrator & CEO were his fellow leaders including the AFAB Chairman Atty. Pablo M. Gancayco, Deputy Administrator for Operations Atty. Michael Angelo G. Paderanga, Office of the Administrator Group Head Atty. Percival Peralta, and AFAB PSSD Head Col. Harry Sucayre.

It was a perfect climate to set off an exceptional day of golf and camaraderie among the participants. The gentle wind serves players just right to strategize their gameplay and the stunning vista was a sight to behold, altogether creating an enjoyable time for both the players and spectators. The fine weather sets the tone for a brewing friendly competition among the participants.

The AFAB HPP Cup victoriously wraps up through an awarding ceremony where tournament winners were celebrated, and a raffle draw added an extra layer of appreciation for those in attendance.

Declared AFAB HPP Cup Champions were John Molina of GN Power Ltd./PMR from Class A, Ronnie Del Rosario of First Hermosa from Class B, Romeo Tagle of One Mariveles Fuel from Class C, and Rodrigo Rodriguez of Mariveles Harbor from Class D.

Class A Runner Up was Gilbert Ravago of Tipo Valley, Guest Bryan Lim (Class B), Dean Cid of Philcement (Class C), and Freddie Yumang of Petron (Class D). For the Ladies’ tournament, Jana Punzalan of GN Power Ltd/PMR grabbed the Championship with Guest Nicole Ordovesa as the Runner-Up.

Tournament guest Sikini Labstilla was declared the Low Gross Score Winner. The Nearest to the Pin Award was earned by Guest Nats Pine, John Molina of GN Power Ltd./PMR pitching the Longest Drive, and Guest Caloy Guzman having the Most Accurate Drive. Guest Carlo Soriano received the Most Exercised award.

The AFAB hosted this event in the pursuit of deepening camaraderie and establishing new connections with various industry leaders through a light and friendly tee time with the AFAB Administrator & CEO Pangandaman.
