In a significant development for the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), President Ferdinand “Bong Bong” R. Marcos has appointed a cohort of highly capable individuals to serve on the AFAB Board of Directors (BOD).
Following the issuance of their official appointments, the new members of the AFAB BOD took their oath of office, officiated by Mariveles Municipal Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion, as an authorized elected official today, 23 June 2023.
Among the appointees were Michael Dennis M. Ballesteros and Conrado G. Marty representing the national government; Aurelio C. Angeles, Jr. representing the Province of Bataan; Armando P. Rubia representing the Municipality of Mariveles, Bataan; Benjamin Mationg Tancio representing domestic investors; and Pablo M. Gancayco representing foreign investors.
The newly appointed AFAB Board of Directors members solemnly swear their oath of office, ready to steer AFAB and FAB towards a future of growth and prosperity.
Notably, the majority of the appointees have previously served in the AFAB and the Freeport, solidifying their understanding of the organization’s intricacies and challenges. Their accumulated experience positions them well to drive strategic initiatives and foster an environment conducive to economic growth.
After the ceremony, AFAB Administrator Mohammed Hussein P. Pangandaman cordially welcomed the BOD members on their first day of duty in the AFAB, where they promptly commenced their tasks as they convened for the inaugural board meeting.
Administrator Pangandaman extends his gracious greeting to the members of the AFAB BOD, marking the beginning of a collaborative journey towards a thriving Freeport.
Under the leadership of Administrator Pangandaman, coupled with the BOD members’ collective expertise about the region and the industry, the AFAB and the FAB are poised to enter a new chapter of progress.
