Mitsumi Philippines Inc. was recognized as the Top Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) Exporter for 2017 during the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) 5th Annual FAB Stakeholders’ Night held last 29 May 2018 at the Bataan Convention Center, FAB, Mariveles, Bataan.

Mitsumi recorded a total export value of US$ 278,741,622.67 in 2017 en route to being acknowledged as the overall top exporter for the past year. This is the third straight year that Mitsumi won the award, after bagging the same award for 2015 and 2016.

The FAB Top Exporter Award is conferred on FAB Registered Enterprises who recorded the highest export value in the past calendar year. All Registered FAB Enterprises are qualified to receive this award. The award shall have three categories based on the average number of employees of the enterprise for the said year. These categories are:
(1) The 499 and Below Employees Category
(2) The 500 to 999 Employees Category, and
(3) The 1,000 and Above Employees Category

Awards are to be given to the top exporter from the 499 and Below Employees category, the top two (2) exporters from the 500 to 999 Employees category, and the top three (3) exporters from the 1,000 and above category.

For 2017, BFD Global Footwear Mfg. Inc., and Dunlop International Philippines Inc., emerged as the Top FAB Exporter for the 499 and Below Employees Category, and for the 500 to 999 Employees category, respectively. Dong In Entech K-1, Inc. was the runner up in the 500 to 999 Employees category, while FCP Corp., and FPF Mfg. Corp., trailed Mitsumi in the 1000 and Above Employees Category, ending with the 3rd and 2nd places respectively.
