Korean Ambassador To PHL Visits FAB

The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) welcomed the Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Han Dong-Man in a courtesy call at the AFAB Administration Building, FAB, Mariveles, Bataan.

Joining Mr. Han were Deputy Administrator for Operations Alewijn Aidan K. Ong and Mariveles Municipal Administrator Hon. Jesus Russel T. Maninang.

Ambassador Han acknowledged FAB’s exemplary operational highlights since 2010 and was delighted about AFAB’s ongoing and future infrastructure development programs. Also discussed were the progress and current state of Korean-owned enterprises within the FAB.

Part of the Ambassador’s courtesy call was to visit the Dong-In Group of Companies which comprise almost twelve percent (12%) of FAB’s registered enterprises.

Dong-In Group of Companies is a group of Korean enterprises which have been locators since March 2002. Subsidiary companies include:

• Almatech Manufacturing Corporation
• Mountaineering Instruments Corporation
• Dong-In Dawn Patrol Manufacturing Corporation
• Dong In Recreational Equipment Manufacturing Corp.
• Dong-In Sunbirds Corporation
• Edge Soft Good Solution, Inc. and,
• East Cam Tech Corporation.

They are engaged in the business of manufacturing high-end backpacks, outdoor gears, bag components, strollers, carriers, car seats and other equipment and accessories with export markets in USA, Europe, Asia, and Australia. As of May 2017, they have a total of 6,319 employees, or 15.69% of the total workforce in the FAB.

Other registered Korean enterprises in FAB include CNJ Asia Resources Inc., Next Generation Power Technology, Philgreen Plastics Corp., Saemwoo Chemical Manufacturing Corp., Seung Eun Fabric, Inc., Su Style, Inc.

Earlier that day, Ambassador Han met with Bataan Governor Albert Garcia and AFAB Chairman and Administrator Emmanuel D. Pineda in a lunch meeting.
