FAB Fair 2018 Officially Opens
The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan and the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan Employee’s Association (AFABEA) has formally opened the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) Fair 2018 last 09 November 2018 at the FAB, Mariveles, Bataan.
To inaugurate the fair, a blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony was held led by Rev. Father Rene P. De Leon, AFAB Chairman Administrator Emmanuel D. Pineda, and AFABEA President Romeo Madla. Guests of honor include Freeport Area of Bataan Investors and Locators Association (FABILA) representative, Atty. Lorenzo Castillo, Port of Limay District Collector Guillermo Francia, and Municipal Civil Registrar Roseller Romero.
For the second part of the grand opening progam, 10 participating schools joined in the Street Dancing Parade from the Mariveles People’s Park to the FAB Fair activity grounds followed by a Street Dancing competition. Gracing the program were Mariveles Municipal Administrator Hon. Jesus Russel Maninang, FABILA President Patrick Martinet and FABILA members.
In his opening remarks, Chairman Pineda expressed his gratitude and pride for this year’s fair and encouraged everyone to participate in the events lined up for the next two months. “Nakakatuwa makita na taun-taon paganda nang paganda ang Fair, taun-taon parami nang parami ang mga sumasali sa mga contests at ang mga pumupunta dito, at taun-taon lalong nagiging masaya ang ating FAB Fair. Ito ay isa sa mga patunay na patuloy ang pag-unlad ng ating community at ang lalong paglakas ng pagkakaisa isa ng bawat miyembro ng ating komunidad”, he said.
Hon. Maninang on the other hand commended AFAB for successfully carrying out the fair for the past years and asserted the local government’s continued support and assistance. Mr. Martinet also conveyed his support for the initiatives of the Fair and the AFAB.
For the Street Dancing Competition, eight (8) schools vied in the elementary division and two (2) schools for the high school division. Each school presented their interpretation of the different festivals celebrated in the Philippines. Ipag Elementary School was the grand winner in the elementary division with Sinulog Festival as their theme. For the high school division, Sunny Hillside School bagged the grand prize with the theme Kagasangan Festival.
The FAB Fair 2018 exhibits twenty-four (24) food stalls and one hundred forty (140) product stalls selling factory-price and export-quality clothes, shoes, linens, bags, and other local items. Boast Inc., Good Sail Trading Inc., Chun Chiang Enterprises Manufacturing Co. Inc., Perpetual Prime Mfg. Inc., and Universal Weavers Corp. are among the FAB registered enterprises exhibiting in the fair.
The FAB Fair is a 2-month trade fair showcasing export quality products produced by enterprises in the Freeport and other local products. The fair is organized to enable local folks and tourists to avail export quality products, exhibit local products, and to celebrate FAB’s growth and development under the leadership of Chairman and Administrator Emmanuel D. Pineda. The FAB Fair 2018 is co-presented by
Cebu Pacific Air, Inc., E-Fare Investment Holdings Inc., and the Provincial Government of Bataan.
