AFAB Conducts Public Consultation on the Guidelines for the Movement of Articles
The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) conducted a public consultation for the proposed Policy Guidelines on Incoming and Outgoing Articles to and from the Freeport Area of Bataan last 02 May 2018 held at the Audio-Visual Room, 2/F AFAB Administration Building.
Spearheaded by the Enterprise Assistance Division (EAD) of the FAB Enterprise Department (FED) - the proposed guidelines intends to streamline the processing of shipments and to effectively monitor the movement of articles within and from the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB). In addition, it also aims to establish a simplified and uniform process, preparing the whole process and its users for automation which will further enhance the service provided and improve client experience.
“One of the challenges the AFAB faces is to ensure the continual improvement of the services we provide. In line with this, all AFAB offices, particularly those in the operational side, work day in and day out in the effort to answer this challenge” AFAB Chairman and Administrator Emmanuel D. Pineda said during the opening remarks of the event. He continued, “We continue to find ways to further enhance our services and processes. This is the main reason why we are all here this afternoon.”
Deputy Administrator for Operations Alewijn Aidan K. Ong and Mr. Menandro L. Salazar, Document Examiner III of the EAD led the presentation and discussion of the said guideline.
The public consultation was attended by 66 representatives from the FAB Registered Enterprises and 36 officials from FAB Accredited Service Providers, which includes brokers, forwarders, and processors. The consultation was also carried out in the presence of officials from other FAB offices, including the Legal Department, the Finance Department, and the Public Safety and Security Department.
