Police officers, fire marshals and medical staff arrive at the ceremonial pilot venue, Qualitek-Delta Phils., Corp., to rescue victims of the catastrophe. Fire and Emergency staff of PSSD put out the fire quickly after the evacuation of employees.

The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) participated in the nationwide simultaneous earthquake and fire drill of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

The earthquake and fire drill was held at the building of Qualitek-Delta Phils., Corp. to test the disaster response plan of the AFAB Public Safety and Security Department (PSSD) and the said FAB locator. The activity also highlighted the capability of the Authority in responding to emergency situations in the freeport, including managing the FAB’s Incident Command System, evacuating employees or the affected populace, establishing evacuation areas and provisioning medical assistance and relief.

“This activity helps in ensuring the FAB locators that they are safe and secured in the freeport. Although the drill is not a compulsory activity this year, the AFAB, through the PSSD, joined in the nationwide activity to practice and test our disaster response plan. We thank Qualitek-Delta Phils., Corp. for allowing the AFAB to conduct the activity in their building,” AFAB Chairman and Administrator Deogracias G.P. Custodio said.
