AFAB inks Supplemental MOA with Barangay Malaya
The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), represented by its Chairman and Administrator Emmanuel D. Pineda and Deputy Administrator for Operations Alewijn Aidan K. Ong signed a Supplemental Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Barangay Malaya on the provision and subsidy of a portion of the power consumption of the Brgy. Malaya Basketball Court. The ceremony was held last 20 May 2019 at the AFAB Board Room, FAB Administration Building, FAB, Mariveles, Bataan.
Undertakings stated in the Supplemental MOA commit AFAB to provide the lighting of the basketball court and shoulder its power consumption up to 256 kWh. Both parties recognize the importance of being able to fully utilize the basketball court in terms of health and social benefits.
“Tuloy tuloy lang ang ating koordinasyon at pag-uusap [para] sa layuning tuloy-tuloy na pag-unlad at upang huwag nang mabinbin ang ating nasimulang magagandang nangyayari dito sa Freeport. Siyempre katulong ang Local Government Units and kasama na rin ang mga Barangay” Chairman Pineda said in his opening remarks.
Brgy. Malaya Chairman Henry E. Gracia on the other hand, expressed his gratitude for the continued support of the AFAB in their endeavors.
In his message, Mariveles Municipal Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion acknowledged the unceasing effort of the AFAB in extending help for the development of the Municipality. He also mentioned that no matter how seemingly small, milestones such as this should be celebrated as these are markers towards the achievement of a bigger goal.
Signatories of the Supplemental MOA include AFAB Chairman and Administrator Emmanuel D. Pineda, AFAB Deputy Administrator for Operations Alewijn Aidan K. Ong, Barangay Malaya Chairman Henry E. Garcia and Mariveles Municipal Mayor Ace Jello C. Concepcion. Also present during the signing were the members of the Sangguniang Barangay of Brgy. Malaya.
Last 12 March 2018, the AFAB and Brgy. Malaya executed a MOA on activities for Waste Management, Infrastructure Projects, Informal Settlers, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programs, Stray Animal, Anti-Littering and Illegal Parking, Dispute Settlement and Peace and Order.
