In partnership with the IRONMAN Group’s Sunrise Events Inc., the inaugural 5150 FAB Triathlon 5150 FAB is set to take place on 16 November 2025, marking a historic first for the province and a significant step forward in opening the FAB as a sports tourism venue. “We are thrilled to welcome the prestigious 5150 Triathlon to the Freeport Area of Bataan,” said Administrator and CEO Pangandaman. “This event reflects our strong belief in the Freeport’s capacity to become a hub for world-class sporting events. 𝐀𝐅𝐀𝐁 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮 The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) joined the Interagency Exercise Alalayan 2025 held in Cebu on 22-23 May 2025 which brought together key agencies involved in maritime safety and law enforcement. The AFAB was represented by Deputy Administrator for Operations Atty. Michael Angelo G. Paderanga, FAB Enterprise Department Manager Atty. Lawrence Leo K. Pelaez, and Ports Analyst and Liaison Officer of AFAB to the National Maritime Center (NMC), Mr. Charles Christopher Cruz. In fulfillment of its standing Memorandum of Agreement with the NMC, the AFAB contributed to the evaluation of the effectiveness of interagency coordination during maritime incidents. This initiative supports AFAB’s ongoing efforts to strengthen maritime security, environmental protection, and collaboration with national maritime enforcement agencies. The exercise aimed to strengthen Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) and test coordination among maritime agencies. It featured a series of simulations, including a Command Post Exercise (CPX), Tabletop Exercise (TTX), and Field Training Exercise (FTX). These covered vessel tracking through the Indo-Pacific Regional Information Sharing (IORIS) platform, interdiction and boarding operations, evidence handling, and emergency response scenarios such as firefighting and search and rescue. The activity was organized by the NMC, in collaboration with the Coast Guard District Central Visayas and the European Union-funded CRIMARIO II program. #INVESTintheFAB #WEareAFAB

Pangandaman, was honored with a Leadership Award by the Bureau of Customs - Port of Limay. The award was presented by District Collector Atty. Kriden F. Balgomera during the celebration of Port of Limay’s 17th Anniversary, held on 11 June 2025 at the Manila Prince Hotel. This recognition highlights Administrator Pangandaman’s exemplary leadership and steadfast commitment to strengthening cooperation between AFAB and the BOC - Port of Limay.
