On the crisp morning of 23 February 2025, the Mimosa Plus Golf Course transformed into a lively arena of friendly competition and business camaraderie as the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) proudly hosted its 2nd AFAB HPP Cup – Golf Tournament. Building on the overwhelming success of last year’s inaugural tournament, this annual event has become a distinguished meeting point where industry leaders, investors, and golf enthusiasts gather for a day of spirited play and meaningful networking.

As dawn broke, players gathered amid the lush, expansive greens, energized by the fresh air and stunning vistas that Mimosa Plus is renowned for. At exactly 7:00 AM, the tournament launched with a sequential play, setting the stage for a day brimming with strategic play and lighthearted banter. Leading the charge was AFAB Administrator and CEO Hussein Pangandaman, whose on-course presence embodied the balance between precision and passion – qualities that drive both the sport and the development of the Freeport Area.

Joining him were key AFAB officials – Office of the Administrator Group Head Atty. Percival B. Peralta, Deputy Administrator for Operations Atty. Michael Angelo G. Paderanga, and Deputy Administrator for Support Services Malou L. Herrera. Their participation underscored AFAB’s commitment to nurturing close ties with stakeholders through initiatives that blend business insight with the joy of golf.

The awards ceremony was the highlight of the day, celebrating champions across multiple categories. Tournament Champions were recognized in each division: Division A honored Mr. JB Laurel and Mr. Dyun Manalansan; Mr. Alex Mercado and Mr. Young Min Kim for Division B; Division C acknowledged Mr. Rodrigo Rodriguez and Mr. Romy Padrigon; and Ms. Min Yang and SP Pracale for Division D. In the Ladies’ Category, the top honors went to Ms. Maricris Cruz and Ms. Donna Dimatalo. Additionally, special awards were presented to Ms. Marie Ventura as the Most Exercised and to Mr. Maverick Punjabi as the Low Gross Score Winner. Raffle prizes further added to the excitement, delighting participants and enhancing the festive atmosphere.

AFAB Administrator and CEO Pangandaman once again demonstrated that leadership extends beyond the boardroom and onto the fairway.
