With the aim of attracting foreign investments in the Freeport, the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), in partnership with the Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) and the Philippine-China Economic Cooperative Industrial Park Inc. (PCECIP) successfully hosted the business tour of eleven Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce last 07 November 2022 at the AFAB Auditorium, FAB, Mariveles, Bataan.
The AFAB warmly welcomed the leaders and representatives of each chamber of commerce and proudly presented the FAB as a great investment location through various attractive propositions elaborated by Corporate Affairs Technical Officer Paul Robert Salapantan and Marketing Chief Kelvin G. Rodriguez.
Mr. Salapantan emphasized how Republic Act 11453 bolsters the FAB’s authority and functions, preparing it for forthcoming business expansions. He shared that the AFAB is now empowered to register and provide appropriate incentives to new technologies and allows for the declaration of FAB Expansion Areas anywhere in the province of Bataan.
On the other hand, AFAB Board of Director and PGB representative Atty. Aurelio Angeles Jr. highlighted the strong ties between the AFAB and the province’s policymakers by sharing that agreements have been executed with various other government agencies to further streamline and increase the accessibility of public services.
In her closing remarks, Deputy Administrator for Support Services Ma. Lourdes L. Herrera expressed the Authority’s resiliency and victory over the most recent global business challenges brought by the pandemic and hoped that the activity will result to lasting partnerships with the attendees.
After the program, the group also visited the FCF Mfg. Corp, Seafront Shipyard & Port Terminal, Bataan Harbor City in Pilar, and 1Bataan Command Center in Orani.
