The representatives from the AFAB, Samal LGU, HTGCC, Provincial Government of Bataan, Provincial Government of Bulacan pose the 1Bataan hand sign during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Samal Ecozone FAB Expansion Area.

The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) gladly joined the groundbreaking ceremony of its first-ever FAB Expansion Area (FEA) in the municipality of Samal, Bataan, held on 10 March 2023 as it inaugurates developments for the rise of the Samal Ecozone.

Once realized, the Samal Ecozone is envisioned to be a key driver of economic growth where various companies, businesses, and industries are anticipated to flourish and open up opportunities for the people of Samal and its neighboring towns. 

The said event also marked the cooperation between the Municipality of Samal, led by Mayor Alexander Acuzar, and the leadership of High Tech Global Cement Corporation (HTGCC), the major developer of the ecozone’s 27.53-hectare site and infrastructure developments.

In a statement, AFAB Marketing Chief Kelvin Rae Rodriguez expressed the continued support and cooperation of the Authority in ensuring the successful establishment and growth of the ecozone. Samal Municipal Mayor Alexander Acuzar, on the other hand, said that the local government shall pursue industrial and leisure companies to locate and operate in the ecozone. 

 

Also in attendance were Samal Municipal Mayor Alexander Acuzar, Provincial Governor’s Office Consultant Godofredo Galicia, Jr., Bataan Board Member Atty. Antonino “Tony” Roman, Provincial Government of Bataan Community Affairs Officer Michelle Caraig, the leadership of the HTGCC, and representatives of the Provincial Government of Bulacan.

 

To date, the AFAB has already declared and registered a total of 18 FAB Expansion Areas (FEAs) aimed to attract investments, generate more jobs, and facilitate larger economic activities in the province.
