The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), through its Corporate Affairs Department, continued to support the Department of Education’s (DepEd) recently concluded Annual Brigada Eskwela by providing in-kind assistance to twelve (12) different schools in Bataan.

With the theme “Matatag na Bayan para sa Maunlad na Paaralan”, Brigada Eskwela 2019 enjoins parents, teachers, local government units, non-government units, and other stakeholders to help in preparing the public school facilities for the opening of the school year every June. It also encourages participants to donate construction and cleaning materials or serve as volunteers for the week-long activity that ran from May 20 to 25, 2019.

The AFAB donated cans of paint and paintbrushes to Antonio G. Llamas Elementary School, BEPZ Elementary, Renato L. Cayetano Memorial School, Bayview Elementary School, Marina Bay Elementary School, Biaan Aeta Integrated School, Mariveles National High Schools (MNHS) – Malaya, Camaya, Poblacion, Cabcaben, Batangas II, and Bataan National Highschool.

The continuous involvement of the AFAB in community-based programs such as Brigada Eskwela is one of the core priorities in SOFT HEART, AFAB’s Priority Action Plan – referring to Socially relevant, Operationally viable, Financially feasible, Technologically Advanced Housing, Expansion areas, Accessibility, Renewable Energy, and Transportation.
