AFAB Meets with Senator Hontiveros
The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), through its FAB Enterprise Department – Ports Services Division (PSD) with guidance from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), conducted a public consultation on the first version of the PST Port Operations Implementing Guidelines during Inclement Weather last 24 January 2020 at the AFAB Administration Building, FAB, Mariveles, Bataan.
Said guidelines contain the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) during a tropical storm or typhoon which shall be observed by all foreign and domestic vessels that are berthed/ anchored in ports under the FAB jurisdiction.
One of the provisions of the guidelines is that during an inclement weather, the port operator or the AFAB may direct the clearing of vessels at piers/wharves at any time as they find such action necessary under prevailing situations.
The public consultation was attended by port terminal operators, port security service providers, cargo handling companies and other maritime stakeholders within the FAB.
