AFAB Conducts Post-Quake Inspections Within the Freeport

To ensure public safety, the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), through its Freeport Facilities Department (FFD) – Infrastructure Maintenance Division, conducted inspection of buildings and infrastructures within the FAB last 23-24 April 2019 following the magnitude 6.1 earthquake that struck Luzon on 22 April 2019.

The AFAB has sent out its technical teams to conduct inspection of FAB’s vital facilities and infrastructures, which includes but are not limited to FAB standard factory buildings, the FAB residential areas, FAB Dam, substations, roads, and bridges. This is to assess the damages and ensure the safety and structural integrity of the infrastructures.

As per the inspection reports prepared by the FFD, the buildings and structures within the FAB are generally sturdy and are secure, safe and habitable. The detailed reports will be submitted to the Management for further assessment and evaluation. Moreover, recommendations shall be discussed with the building owners and lessees.

The Authority urges the FAB registered enterprises, building owners and residents within the Freeport to check the integrity of their respective buildings and the structures that they occupy and also advised them to report concerns and possible damages.
