AFAB Conducts Orientation on Latest Customs Memo and E-BiBo Process
As part of the goal of keeping all Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) Registered Enterprises up to date on the latest import-export processes updates, the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), through the efforts of the FAB Enterprise Department (FED), conducted the Orientation on Customs Memorandum Order 06-2018 and Electronic Bring In – Bring Out Process last 06 June 2018 at the Audio-Visual Room, 2nd Floor, AFAB Administration Building, FAB, Mariveles, Bataan.
The orientation aims to ensure that the ease of doing business in the FAB is kept at the highest standards, as reiterated by Francis Anthony Emata of the FAB Enterprise Department during the opening remarks.
Mr. Joel Dunca spearheaded the discussion about the Customs Memorandum Order (CMO) 06-2018 regarding the submission of advance cargo manifest and other documents to the Bureau of Customs's (BOC) Advanced Manifest System. The CMO covers all sea and air freight in all Philippine ports of entry, and aims to recommend the detailed procedures on the submission of online cargo manifest hardcopy and other documents as required by the BOC, as well as to expedite the release of legitimate cargo upon arrival in the country.
The second part of the discussion revolved around the Electronic Permit to Bring-In / Permit to Bring-Out (ePBI-PBO) process as offered by Intercommerce Network Services, Inc. (INSI). Ms. Katreena Ulit, Ms. Angela Villasanta, and Mr. John Castillo, all from INSI, led the discussion of said process.
A total of 79 attendees were present during the orientation, representing 41 FAB Registered Enterprises and 10 FAB Accredited Service Providers.
