AFAB Conducts Fundraising Activity for SOS Children’s Village

The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), in partnership with the SOS Children’s Village – Bataan organized a fundraising activity through the sponsorship and sale of Christmas lanterns. The lighting ceremony was held last 18 December 2018 at The Oriental Bataan, Freeport Area of Bataan Compound, Brgy. Malaya, Mariveles, Bataan.

The event, dubbed as “Give Light to a Child’s Life Year 2: Granting Wishes – It takes U in US to Make It Happen” aims to raise more funds for the education and basic needs of the children entrusted in the care of SOS Children’s Village – Bataan. The Christmas lanterns serve as the symbol of shared faith and hope for the children in helping them see the triumph of light over darkness.

A total of thirteen (13) FAB registered enterprises took part in the fundraising activity along with the provincial government of Bataan, Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers-Bataan Chapter (PICHE-BC), and other private organizations and individuals.

SOS Children’s Villages is a private, non-political, non-denominational organization that provides long-term family-based care to children in need. SOS Children’s Villages – Bataan provides home for over a hundred orphaned children and is located at the Golden Heights Subdivision, Mariveles, Bataan.
